As the old saying goes, "April showers bring May flowers," and it couldn't have been more fitting for the Boston Metro Baseball League, as we finally emerged from a rain-soaked April and embraced the arrival of May.

With the weather finally cooperating, the month of May brought forth an array of exceptional performances on the field as eager players wasted little time showcasing their offensive prowess at the plate and pitching dominance on the mound.

In recognition of these individual achievements, the league would like to honor two standout players from each of the league's four divisions for "Offensive Player of the Month" and "Pitcher of the Month".

Without further ado, here are the April/May 2023 "Players of the Month", as voted on by the BMBL administrators.

18+ Division

Pitcher of the Month - John Medina, Boston Havoc (2 Games, 2-0 record, 13 IP, 1.62 ERA, 3 ER, 6 Hits, 26 K's)

28+ Boston Division

Pitcher of the Month - Adam Anderson, Boston Havoc (3 Games, 3-0 record, 19 IP, 0.37 ERA, 1 ER, 11 Hits, 28 K's)

Offensive Player of the Month - Nick Godfroy, Lowell Angels (8-17, .471 Avg., 4 Runs, 8 RBI, 4 Doubles, 1 Triple, 3 BB, 1 SB)

28+ MetroWest Division

Pitcher of the Month - Chris Dion, Metrowest Royals (2 Games, 2-0 record, 12 IP, 0.58 ERA, 1 ER, 8 Hits, 17 K's)

Offensive Player of the Month - Jeff Scafidi, Northborough Cardinals (7-14, .500 Avg., 4 Runs, 11 RBI, 2 Doubles, 1 Triple, 1 BB)

38+ Masters Division
