A: If you are a new or former player looking to join a team, please click here to sign up. Be sure to provide a detailed description of your baseball history when registering. Your information will get added to the player pool and be made available to all of the team managers.
Should a team need players for the upcoming season or during the regular season, the manager will reach out to you directly, if interested. Unfortunately, there is no guarantee that new players will be selected to a team.

A: Your chances of making a team depend on various factors, such as the number of roster spots teams are looking to fill and the specific position(s) teams are looking to add, but don't let that discourage you! To increase your chances, be sure to provide a detailed description of your baseball history when registering. Managers typically look to recruit players between December and April, so be sure to register early, however, roster spots do tend to also open up throughout the season due to injuries or relocations.
It's important to note that your odds of making a team also depend on the division you're applying for. There's more competition in the 18+ and 28+ divisions, so your chances are going to be higher in the 38+ division, assuming you meet the age requirement. If you are a pitcher or catcher, your chances also increase due to the high demand for those specific positions.
Although we cannot determine your chances precisely, remember, you can only hit the ball if you swing the bat! So give it your best shot and show them what you're made of.

A: Although the league used to conduct tryouts in the past, today, team managers recruit players directly from the Player Pool — the list of interested players who registered on this website. Managers reach out to players directly. Most managers will invite players to a practice or tryout with the team before officially offering them a roster spot. Every player is a free agent and can opt to play for any team that contacts them.

A: Be sure to make a note of this in the "Questions and Comments" section when registering on our website. Please keep in mind that this may reduce the likelihood of being contacted by a team, as it all depends on the number of roster spots teams have available.
A: The schedule typically includes 18-22 regular season games (depending on age division), in addition to playoffs, which could be another 6-10 games if your team makes it all the way to the Finals.
A: Games are generally played on Sunday, with some games played on weeknights throughout the season. Holiday weekends such as Memorial Day, 4th of July, and Labor Day are usually "off" weekends, but this is not always the case. Games in the Age 38+ division are played on Monday nights only, except in the postseason. Check out our General Information page for more information.
A: Opening Weekend is typically in mid to late April. The postseason generally begins after Labor Day weekend. Team practices begin as early as December/January (each team schedules their own practices).
A: Yes, we are a self-supported league. We pay for our own uniforms as well as league/team fees to cover field permits, umpires (2 per game), baseballs, insurance, league maintenance costs, etc.
The total fees are roughly $250-$300 per player, but it really varies from team to team. If you break that cost down over the course of a season, it comes out to just a little over $10 per game.
You are responsible for paying the total amount to your team manager prior to the start of the season. If you are truly unable to pay in full prior to the season, be sure to communicate this to your manager in advance. We do not want any players to be deterred from playing because of financial hardship, and therefore most managers will work with you on a payment plan, as long as you are upfront with them about your situation.

A: Yes, you are responsible for supplying your own equipment. You will need your own glove, wood bats (minimum of 2 is recommended), batting helmet, and full baseball uniform (as required by your team).
Players must play in cleats. Since we play on both turf and grass fields, players must have both grass cleats (metal or rubber are permitted) and turf shoes.
If you are a catcher, you will need to supply your own catcher's gear (e.g,. mask, chest protector, knee pads). Some managers may have catcher’s gear that can be shared, but this is an exception, and not the norm. If equipment must be shared by teammates, proper sanitation should be administered prior to use.

A: Games are competitive across all age divisions. The majority of our players have played high school ball and many have played either college or amateur ball. While teams do play to have fun, they also play to win. At the same time, we understand that new recruits may not have played in a while (sometimes even years), especially in the 28+ and 38+ age divisions. Don't worry, many of the current veteran players were in your shoes when they first entered the league too.
