Red Sox walk off with Masters championship
For the second straight year, the Metro Red Sox and Waltham Braves faced off in the MSBL Masters Championship, where the series once again came down to a decisive Game 3.
This time however, the series-deciding game would be decided in extra innings, as neither side allowed a run through nine innings, in what was a fantastic pitcher's duel between Steve Hueston of the Red Sox and Gary Vallerand of the Braves.
In the bottom of the 10th with two outs and a runner on second, Paul Rousseau came through for the defending champs with a clutch base hit into the gap that drove in the winning run, giving the Red Sox the 1-0 walk-off win and back-to-back Masters championships.
Congratulations to the Metro Red Sox on winning the 2015 Masters Championship, and hats off to the Waltham Braves on a great season and a hard-fought series.
With 8 championships now under their belt, the Metro Red Sox franchise has regained the lead for the most championships in BMBL history.
